About this property
Coastline Cottage in St Anne’s Head, Pembrokeshire
This coastal cottage has two bedrooms (one twin and one double) and a bathroom with a shower. Enjoy a cosy night in the living room complete with wood-burning stove and a television/DVD player. The kitchen contains a microwave, hob and fridge freezer as well as all your crockery and utensils.
Situated on St Anne’s Head, this former lighthouse-keepers coastline cottage offers some of the best views in Pembrokeshire. Sat next to the original St Anne’s Light House, the Pembrokeshire Coastline is just a stone throw away. Watch the waves crash onto the cliffs of St Anne’s Head and all the wildlife that live and venture around our coastline.
The Exterior
This single storey cottage has a lawn to the front of the property and a walled courtyard with decking at the rear. There is a table with six garden chairs on the decking which also affords views of the sea. Parking is also available.
The Surrounding
St Anne’s Head is situated just outside the popular fishing and mooring village of Dale. The village is a haven for water-sports enthusiasts due to the enclosed bay, with equipment available to hire if you’ve not brought your own or want to try something new! The village is also home to a couple of restaurants, a seafront cafe plus a few shops in which to purchase tokens of your time in Pembrokeshire. Marloes Sands is within easy reach by car and boat trips out to Skomer Island to see the famous Pembrokeshire puffins run from nearby Martin’s Haven.
One of Pembrokeshire’s hidden gems is a beach in Marloes called Musselwick Sands. It is a 30 min drive away but it will not disappoint. This beach requires a small walk across the coastal path, then you walk down some steps to the beach. Make sure to check the tide times.
The county town of Haverfordwest is around 13 miles away with its supermarkets, retail outlets and restaurants.

There's a little path that takes you down to an almost private little cove. Our kids loved the rock pools there. In low tide there is a mini-beach there too 🙂 There is a paddock in front that's great for flying kites, and the costal walk is just there.
For families with little kids, there are walks you can do with a decent buggy and the back yard gets the evening sun so you can have your post-kids'-bedtime wine and cheese while watching the hypnotic wheat (?) fields. Bear in mind, it's not too close to shops or anything, so be organised with stocking up for food etc. (we did see a Tescos delivery truck nearby, not sure if they deliver all the way to St Anne's Head).
There was a leak in the roof when we were there which made the house quite damp. However it was no one's fault, these things happen- what was good was the owner's response to this. We were given a dehumidifier to manage the problem and partial refund which was appreciated. (I'm sure this will be fixed soon)
My only criticism is that I found the cancellation policy a bit harsh, especially given the lockdowns and tiers and ever changing, different rules between Wales and England this year. Luckily we made it and nothing went wrong. read less

It is in the most beautiful location right on St Anne's Head. Only a minutes walk from the coastal path and walking distance to a number of perfect beaches and Dale village. It's quite isolated so perfect for a relaxing getaway, but nearest food shop is quite a drive. The cottage is comfortable and has everything you need. Bed is comfortable. Decor is a little dated but didn't matter to us. A couple of basics were missing but was rectified very quickly. We hope we can return another year! read less

We were looking for somewhere remote for a proper getaway, and Veronica Cottage fitted the bill perfectly. We loved being so close to the Pembrokeshire Coast path and enjoyed beautiful walks right from the front door and exploring the local beaches. Our toddler loved splashing in the puddles on Marloes Sands.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms but there was plenty of room in the main bedroom for a travel cot (note: the listing states there is a travel cot and high chair; these were not present during our stay (we had not requested these and brought our own so it didn't matter) so enquire with the owner if you need these).
Dale is the nearest village - it has a nice pub serving delicious seafood and a cafe with a small shop attached. At the time of our stay the shop was very low-stocked due to Covid-19, but still had milk, bread and a few other essentials. There is a slightly larger local shop in Marloes but the nearest big shop is in Haverfordwest - we did a big shop there before we arrived at the cottage. Note that most local car parks only accept cash (and there is no cashpoint in Dale) so remember to bring some cash.
The washing machine was not working when we arrived, but the letting agent sent out an engineer to repair it on the same day, which we really appreciated.
One minor annoyance was that the outside bin was full when we arrived, which meant there was nowhere to store rubbish once the kitchen bin was full, but this may be due to a Covid-related change in bin collection times. read less
