Idyllic setting for a relaxing holiday within rural Pembrokeshire

The Property

Hafan Hedd is a newly renovated and restored farmhouse situated near Solva, Pembrokeshire. It was established in 1837 and remained derelict for many years. The owners of Hafan Hedd have renovated this cottage to the highest standards keeping the authentic rural countryside feel, along with modern fittings and features.

As you enter the cottage through the front door, you will see the contrast between authentic stone walls and modern touches. There is an open plan living dining area, with a large fireplace fitted with log burner. Just perfect for those cosy relaxing evenings, after a day of exploring Pembrokeshire’s hotspots. To the left is a newly fitted bright kitchen, and to the right is a modern family bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Up the stairs, you will find a converted bedroom loft area, with a kingsize bed, futon and storage. At the foot of the bed is a chimney breast giving a unique modern look, while encompassing the original wooden beams and authentic original wooden carvings.

Hafan Hedd is located perfectly for walking holidays, and is the ideal setting for couples who want to enjoy some peace and tranquility, within a quiet rural area. And, did we mention, Hafan Hedd is dog friendly too.

The Exterior

Hafan Hedd is within a beautiful farm style court yard. As you enter the driveway, you will see Hafan Hedd straight ahead. Outside is a shared lawn area with a private lawn along the side and rear of the cottage. On the shared lawn is a bespoke water well feature stocked with seasonal flowers. The cottage has a small patio area, equipped with garden furniture to sit out in the sun and take in the countryside views, while listening to the birds and local wildlife. There is also an external staircase that provides access to the bedroom and first floor.

Me, my partner and our Labrador had an amazing week in Pembrokeshire while staying at Hafan Hedd. The cottage had more than enough space for all three of us whilst we were out exploring as much of the areas as we could in the week. We didn’t have any hot water on the first morning of our visit but the team at NetLet had the issue resolved within a couple of hours (and it was a Sunday). The property is very quiet but close enough to the lovely areas of Solva and St David’s. We will definitely be back.

This was our second visit to Hafan Hedd this year. Wonderful setting and incredibly quiet and peaceful. Ideal location for visiting St Davids and the surrounding coastal countryside.
