The Exterior
Outside this coastal holiday cottage in Pembrokeshire is where it really showcases its reputation. The garden has ample acres of secured land for the family and four legged friends to play. Not only is the garden a charming feature but you will enjoy the patio and seating area to use at your leisure. Outside the boundaries of the property is a magical stroll through open meadows into some of the National Trusts Woodland. If you follow the path for about 10-minutes it will bring you out to two of the areas best beaches.
The Surroundings
The 10-minute woodland walk leads through to Abermawr (Big Beach) and Aberbach (Small Beach).
Aberbach is a pebble beach but, when at low tide, it reveals plenty of golden sand. This is an ideal place to watch the seals playing or on a windy day, watch the waves crashing into the shore. Legend once said that a local farmer once caught a mermaid here so keep an eye out for one.
Abermawr is a remote beach with pebbled shores and it is backed by earthed cliffs. During low tide the beach exposes its golden sand with some secret hidden history. Many years ago, 8000 in fact, a ice sheet melted revealing the remains of a ‘drowned’ forest. If you visit during the right season there are bluebell filled woods climbing the hill at the southern end.
What makes these beaches great is that they are dog friendly all year round, so there is no need to worry about restrictions with your four legged friends.

The house is perfectly equipped with everything you need for a great time. We cooked most days and enjoyed eating in the garden. A real highlight was the round walk from the cottage to the beach about 15 minutes away which we did every day! We loved the space in the cottage and were very comfortable there. read less
A fab rural location, so quiet but nice and near to amenities and great beaches and walks. Recommend.

The beds were very comfortable, bedding and towels squeaky clean and the general cleanliness was good.
The cottage was well presented with comfy furniture and also garden furniture.
The shower was great- huge cubicle and really good pressure. Nice to have a downstairs toilet too.
The wood burner and filled log basket was great and along with the central heating meant the cottage was toasty warm.
The kitchen facilities were great- every utensil you might need.
The gardens were well maintained, secluded and secure perfect for a dog or small children. Private parking right opposite so no issues.
Collection of keys was dead simple and convenient.
The boot room was fabulous, a great place for the dog to dry and our muddy boots. A very dog friendly cottage.
The games and DVD's were great. Great to have a decent sized TV in the lounge
There was a fly issue which is unusual for March. Dead flies in lights, on bathroom floor and on windowsills.
Would of been nice to have a welcome pack which included milk, eggs, butter, tea and coffee. The cottage is well away from anywhere and it would be a nice gesture for guests arriving late.
When we arrived the heating was off and the cottage was freezing. We did wonder if we were the first people to stay this year and so the house had been unused for a while which was why it was so cold. Having the heating on for guests would be a nice welcome. Once the heating had been on for a couple of hours it was toasty and warm. read less
